AIANY 2019 Design for Aging Review Merit – The Goldin at Essex Crossing
Highlights
Multi-specialty outpatient clinical practice, physical therapy practice and operating room surgical center dedicated to orthopedic surgery spanning 3 floors.
LPE was retained to provide project management services overseeing the construction of the premier Joan H. & Preston Robert Tisch Center at Essex Crossing. A state-of-the art facility designed with the patient experience in mind, including plush waiting areas, luxuriously appointed exam rooms, extensive art collection, top of the line physical therapy gym and warm and inviting boutique surgical practice. Related diagnostic services, including laboratory testing, X-ray imaging, and cardiology and vascular studies are also conveniently located onsite. The project presented unique challenges given its cohabitation with newly built affordable senior housing. Extensive coordination between the architect and engineering team, construction manager, building owner, NYU Langone Health and three specialized expeditors in conjunction with the New York City Department of Buildings was necessary to ensure approvals could be obtained without adversely affecting the new construction occupancy approvals.
